I/O module with RS-485 interface and Modbus/RTU protocol, and 8 universal TTL inputs or outputs (analog or digital). It can be used as a Wiegand converter or temperature sensor interface, by converting the 1-wire protocol to Modbus/RTU. RS-485. The Barix X8 is a universal I/O module that features an RS-485 serial interface and the Modbus/RTU protocol.
Eight inputs or outputs can be independently programmed to act as analog or digital inputs with a programmable pull-up resistor or as digital outputs. The X8 can be used as an I/O interface to Wiegand readers or keypads, or temperature sensors via the Dallas 1-wire protocol. In addition, it can operate as a general purpose I/O module using the Modbus protocol or as a connection device to the Barionet using the Barionet's RS-485 serial interface and BCL code to implement the Modbus/RTU communications protocol.
Applications
- General purpose Modbus/RTU protocol I/O module
- Remote monitoring of susceptible rooms, buildings and infrastructures
- Temperature sensor system via Barix 1-wire TS protocol
Characteristics
- Eight independent, configurable inputs and outputs, TTL levels and programmable pull-up resistors
- Modbus/RTU protocol can be implemented through the integrated RS-485 (2-wire) serial interface
- Wiegand interface can be implemented using 2 inputs
- Possibility of connecting temperature sensors via the Dallas 1-wire protocol (1 sensor per input)
